Description
Pagid RSL 1 is a high-friction endurance racing compound designed to combine strong braking performance with excellent pad life and consistency. Its friction characteristics remain stable across a wide temperature range, providing predictable braking torque even during prolonged high-temperature use. Despite its high friction level, RSL 1 retains good modulation and relatively low wear rates for both the pad and disc.

What it’s good for
Ideal for endurance racing, GT and touring cars, prototype applications and demanding track use where high braking torque needs to be maintained over long sessions. Its combination of high friction and good modulation also makes RSL 1 suitable for sprint racing and heavier or faster track cars that require more braking torque.

What we like about it
RSL 1 manages to combine high braking performance with the characteristics you actually want from an endurance compound. There is plenty of braking torque available, but it remains progressive and controllable rather than simply relying on an aggressive initial bite.

Pad life is a particular strength, while good disc compatibility helps control running costs on cars doing significant track mileage. The stable friction characteristics also mean the braking behaviour remains predictable as temperatures change throughout a session.

Worth knowing: Compared with RSL 29, RSL 1 offers a higher friction level and greater braking torque while retaining excellent longevity and modulation. RSL 29 is the more progressive choice, whereas RSL 1 makes sense when you want the endurance characteristics of the RSL family but need a stronger overall brake response.
