Description
Ferodo DS3.12 is a high-friction racing compound developed for demanding GT, endurance and track applications. With an average friction coefficient of around 0.62, it delivers very high braking torque, strong initial bite and excellent consistency across a broad temperature range. Designed to maintain performance under repeated high-energy stops, DS3.12 offers excellent fade resistance and remains predictable even during heavy ABS intervention.

What it’s good for
Best suited to dedicated track cars, GT cars, endurance racing and other high-energy braking applications. The high friction level makes it particularly effective on cars that need substantial braking torque, including heavier and faster track cars, or where the driver wants maximum response with relatively low pedal effort.

What we like about it
DS3.12 combines huge braking performance with impressive control. Despite the high friction level, the compound remains predictable and gives the driver good modulation rather than simply feeling aggressive. Its consistency at high temperatures is a major strength, particularly over longer sessions where maintaining the same pedal response and braking torque lap after lap matters.

Worth knowing: DS3.12 is a proper race compound. The very high friction level will not suit every car or driver, and increased noise, dust and disc wear should be expected compared with road or lighter-duty track compounds.
