Description
GAZ Gold Twin Adjustable Coilovers for the BMW F80 M3s are a motorsport-focused suspension package developed for serious track day and competition use. The kit features independently adjustable bump and rebound damping at the front, with adjustable rear dampers and ride height adjustment at all four corners.
External reservoirs on the front dampers increase oil capacity, helping control damper temperatures and maintain more consistent performance during sustained hard use. The F82 retains its separate rear spring and damper arrangement, with an adjustable spring platform supplied as part of the kit.
What it’s good for
Ideal for serious track-day F80 M3s, clubsport builds and tarmac competition cars, particularly those running semi-slick or full slick tyres. The dampers are designed to cope with the increased loads generated by high-grip tyres, while the additional damping control provides greater scope to tune the chassis around different circuits and conditions.
Each kit is custom specified around the individual car, taking into account factors including vehicle weight, tyre choice, power output and intended use. Spring rates, damper valving and ride-height range can then be selected to suit the application rather than relying on a generic setup.
What we like about it
The independent bump and rebound adjustment at the front is the main attraction. Being able to control the two separately gives you considerably more scope to tune how the M3 manages braking, turn-in, weight transfer and how quickly the suspension settles following an input.
The external reservoirs provide additional oil capacity, improving resistance to damper fade and helping maintain consistent behaviour throughout longer track sessions. This is particularly useful on a powerful and relatively heavy car like the F80 M3s, where sustained track use can put significant thermal load into the suspension.
We also like that the kit is built around the individual car rather than supplied with a one-size-fits-all spring and damper specification. Every kit is dyno tested before dispatch to ensure it meets the required build specification.
Current lead time is approximately 6 weeks.
Worth knowing: The standard kit is 2-way adjustable at the front but single-adjustable at the rear. The front dampers provide separate bump and rebound adjustment, while the rear adjuster changes compression and rebound simultaneously. The rear dampers can be upgraded to twin-adjustable versions if independent bump and rebound control is required at both ends of the car.
The kit is designed to work with the original F80 M3 top mounts. Cars equipped with factory EDC will also require an EDC deactivation kit when the original electronically controlled dampers are removed. We stock a suitable EDC deactivation kit, which can be found under Suspension Components.
