GAZ Monotube Coilovers for the BMW E46 M3 are a motorsport-focused suspension package designed for serious track day and competition use. The kit provides adjustable ride height and damping front and rear, with a monotube design developed to improve damper consistency, reduce unsprung weight and provide greater control under sustained hard use.

Unlike a generic off-the-shelf coilover package, each kit can be configured around the individual car, with spring rates, damper valving and ride-height range selected to suit its weight, tyre choice, power and intended use.

What it’s good for
Ideal for serious track-day E46 M3s, clubsport builds, dedicated race cars and tarmac motorsport applications. The kit can be configured around road tyres, semi-slicks or full slicks, making it suitable for everything from a track-focused road car through to a fully prepared competition car.

It's particularly well suited to E46 M3s running increased grip levels, weight reduction or other chassis modifications where a more appropriately specified damper and spring package becomes increasingly important.

What we like about it
The tailored setup is one of the biggest advantages. Spring rates and damper valving can be selected around the actual specification of the car rather than assuming that the same setup is appropriate for every E46 M3. Each kit is also dyno tested before dispatch to ensure it meets the required specification.

The kit includes front sliding camber and caster adjustable top mounts, rear offset top mounts and helper springs, giving you considerably more scope to optimise the chassis and alignment for track use.

The monotube construction also reduces unsprung weight, while GAZ's fast-flow valve design is intended to improve wheel control and help the tyre maintain contact with the surface.

Worth knowing: Damping is controlled through a single adjuster, which changes compression and rebound simultaneously. It therefore doesn't offer the independent adjustment of a 2-way or 3-way motorsport damper, but keeps setup relatively straightforward while still allowing the overall damping level to be tuned.

The supplied front top mounts provide both camber and caster adjustment, but they cannot replicate the full amount of caster provided by the original E46 M3 top mounts. This is worth considering when planning your front geometry.

These kits are also built to order and tailored to the individual car, so they aren't an off-the-shelf suspension package, as such they have a lead time of 4-6 weeks.
